Matt Dockstader, of Destination Races has followed up his other local half-the Napa Wine Country Half Marathon with this one further north...Note that this race will fill to 2000 entrants before race day so pre-register! Starts at Franics Ford Coppola presents at Rosso & Bianco Winery, Geyersville. Finish at Springs Recreation area, Lake sonoma. Destination Races presents its newest jewel, the Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon. A spectacular 13.1 mile course curves through the beautiful Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys at the end of harvest when the vineyards are vibrant with fall colors. This festive event is a celebration of the end of wine harvest and Halloween. Costumed runners will travel to this dynamic wine region to experience the ultimate destination running experience. The journey starts at the magnificent Rosso & Bianco Winery, Presented by Francis Ford Coppola, and finishes at Warm Springs recreation area next to Lake Sonoma for the popular Wine & Music Festival. Following the post-race festival a Kids Pumpkin Run will be held at Rosso & Bianco Winery. One or two water stations will also have food and small wine samplings. At mile six water stop, Quivira Vineyards will also be pouring its Grenche Rose and Fig Mountain Sauvignon Blanc and organic honey made on-site at the winery.
