The University of Sioux Falls will host the 1st Annual USF Community 5K Run/Walk at the USF Sanford Sports Complex located on the corner of 69th and Cliff Avenue. Proceeds for this event will support Sanford’s Breast Health Fund. This fund allows for local women to receive breast health screenings, which they could not otherwise afford.
The race will start on the Lillibridge Track. Men, women and children of all ages are encouraged to participate in the Community 5K Run/Walk; the race distance is 5000m or 3.1 miles.
Each participant will receive a t-shirt and two tickets to the USF vs. Dakota Wesleyan football game for participating. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00pm. Light snacks and beverages will be provided at the race.

In addition to the 5k, USF will be raising funds for Sanford’s Breast Health Fund throughout the month of October. At every home USF athletic event held during the month, Cougar athletics will be selling pink Cougars to show support for women fighting breast cancer. At each event these Cougars will be placed on display. With each pink Cougar purchased, individuals will be entered into a raffle to win prizes from Riddles Jewelry. Donations will also be taken to help support the local fund either on the day of the event or you may include them with your registration.
