Charming, hospitable Clarksville, Tennessee is the 9th fastest growing city in the country and has been named one of the top 10 best cities for relocating families. Located in Middle Tennessee directly off I-24 just 40 minutes west of Nashville, it is the “South’s ‘Gateway’” from the Midwestern United States.
The inaugural Clarksville Half-Marathon/5K/Fun Run has been created by the Clarksville Montgomery County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Economic Development Council. The CVB’s goal is to create a major World Class running event that will attract runners from the community, regionally and throughout the country. The beneficiary of the event will be the Clarksville Area YMCA who will partner with Reinke Sports Group and the CVB on the event. The event is part of the USRA (United States Running Association) Half-Marathon Series.
The weekend will kick off Friday, November 6 with a Health & Fitness Expo / Packet Pickup from 11AM – 7PM Lower Level Ballroom at Riverview Inn, 50 College Street, Clarksville, TN. The Half-Marathon, 5K and Fun Run will start and finish at the award-winning Beachaven Vineyards & Winery traversing a scenic, gently rolling course through historic Clarksville.
WINGS OF LIBERTY - MILITARY CHALLENGE GROUPS: There will be a special competition for the group with the highest participation across all events. To include your group in the competition you must contact event staff by using the "Contact Coordinator" button above the event listing on AllSportCentral.com or select "Contact Us" from the event website. After the event staff have setup your Group Name in the system others from your group will be able to register and select your Wings of Liberty Group Name from the drop down list while registering online. By selecting a Wings of Liberty Group Name, you also ensure a percentage of your proceeds benefit the Wings of Liberty Military Museum.
A special award will be given to the Wings of Liberty Group with the highest participation.
Ten Percent (10%) of each Wings of Liberty registration fee will be donated in support of the Wings of Liberty Museum Development Drive.
Clarksville Area YMCA helps more than 10,000 individuals become healthier and happier through its health and wellness programs. Among the 4,011 households the Y serves, 2176 receive more than $600,000 in financial assistance to help them pay for Y membership, participate in summer camp, youth basketball, ABC (After Breast Cancer) Program, Fun Company After-School program and Operation Excel.
